Sunday the first of April - Hello Denmark!

Hey! I have been tired since I arrived in Denmark, because of the jetlag. The trip home was better than the other way - it felt faster. It was a very good study trip and I can't wait to go back. I don't know if I will recommend British Airways, because of the delayed flights, but I don't think it was their fold anyway.. I think the hotel was really good, even though the beds were a bit small. You have to beware, that many hotels in New York, doesn't have really good breakfast, so if you want that, you should go out and eat instead. As I promised I will show some of the things I bought :). I hope you enjoyed following my trip!

Friday the 30th of March – Goodbye New York, see you soon

So this is our last day in the city.. :( Today me and Mie are going out to shop and just visiting the places, we feel that we have to see, before we go home to little Denmark. I hope to find a new jacket, that I have been chasing in a store and some shoes. We are busy today, because we have many places to visit before 06:00 p.m. where we have to be back at the hotel. So this is just a short post, and I will write again when I am home in DK! I have really loved NYC and I am sure I'm going to miss it. I know I will come back, even though it is a very expensive trip - it was worth it. Everything is big here.. The buildings, shops and commercials - and much cheeper than in Denmark. I think I will move to NYC ;) See you!

Thursday the 29th of March – Visiting Apple, Statue of Liberty and Soho

Hey guys.. Today we went to a workshop at Apple, but before that, we walked on the High Line. It is a renovated walking street above the ground and there are old train racks on it too. We walked under a hotel, which I could recognise from the movie ”Shame”. We had a little break between that and going to Apple, so we went to the biggest eletronic store in the world called B&H. It is special because almost all the empoyers are jews and the items roll on ties under the ceiling from the stock room to the places you pay.. At the Apple workshop, we were in groups of two people and I was together with Mie. First we had to make a song in the program Garageband, and then we made a video to it by taking pictures and putting it all together. It was fun, but not so learning for us, because we already know the programs.. It only took around two hours, so after that we went to see the Statue of Liberty. We had booked tickets and the queue was a lot smaller than the last time, so it didn’t take so long to get in. The Statue of Liberty is much smaller than I expected it to be, but in movies they always film it from an angle, where it looks really big. We didn’t board the island, but we went to Ellis Island, where immigrants were received back in the days. There was a museum and a theater. We didn’t spend long time there, so we took the fairy back and went to Soho. That area is not like where we live. It is not filled with commercials and it is cosy.. When we got home, we ate the biggest Pizza in the world. Tomorrow is our last day in NYC! All the day we can decide for our selves what to do – me and Mie have shopping plans!

Wednesday the 28th of March – NBC Studios and a sad memorial

So today we went to Rockefeller Plaza again, but this time it was to see NBC Studios. We had two guides, that showed us 3-4 different studios, where they film talkshows, new and the weather. None of us knew the shows they make, but it was fun to see it anyway. At last two from the group we walked around with, got the chance to try being a news host and a weather woman. They were actually good at it. After that we went to the memorial and on the way, I saw a man with a cat on his head! The memorial was a big place with two fountains, where the two towers were before. It was beautiful, but it was also surrounded by a sad mood. The place is not open for the public yet, but it will be when all the towers is rebuilt. After seeing the memorial, me and Mie went to a outlet nearby and later we shopped on Times Square.

Wednesday the 28th of March – Good morning

Good morning! Just a quick update.. I just ate breakfast and don’t have so much time before we leave. We are going to see NBC Studios and the 9/11 Memorial. I’m especially excited to see the memorial, because it is so meaningful and it must be weird to be right where all the horrible things happened in 2001. I will update you tonight, have a good day!

Tuesday the 27th of March – Brooklyn Bridge and power shopping

Today we walked over Brooklyn Bridge. We took the underground to Brooklyn, but we lost one of our teachers, because they had agreed on getting of at different train stations. After waiting on him and calling him, we went to the bridge and started walking. It was New York City from a different view. Suddenly we saw our lost teacher walking towards us from the other end of the bridge.. Reunion! Then we walked through a little park and to Wall Street. It is quite small for such a famous street. After that we had time to do what we wanted. Me, Mie and some of the boys decided to go to the outlet called Woodbury. A bus drove us straight to the outlet and it was like a little city with stores. We spent so many hours (and money), that we took the last bus home.. When I am home in Denmark again, I will show you all the things I bought. Good day!
